Our Video Work

Event Coverage
Chatteris festival is an annual event, a big event in a small town that is well attended. Being the official videographer for the event allows for a more personal feel for the film. The concept was to follow the activities over the weekend and create an after film of the event and have marketing material for future shows for the festival organisers and Fenland District Council Communications. The event was filmed over 18 hours, day and night and using 4K cameras to capture the colours and feel of the weekend. Liaising with the artists during the show allowed the opportunity to get closer to the action.

Branded Content
Crickbox kit is the brainchild of local cricket coach Bill Adamson who came up with the idea for a new system for training players. The challenge was to promote something that was still in development which is why 3D animation was brought in to help show the concept. The product was filmed over a six-month period at different stages of development and smaller videos and images were created, including studio photography and even hosting a podcast interview with The Paddock and the Pavilion show. We also spent time creating and developing their website to help bring everything together.

Documentary
Mushroom’s Quest is a two-part project. The first part was to film the documentary of a fast-paced event where a daughter discovered who her father was and the challenge being to film the upcoming meeting. It was filmed over a seven-day period with several trips into London and some interview recorded before the main event. From that a short film was created to act as a teaser (shown here) which has done well on the festival circuit. The second part - the longer, complete documentary is in development and hopefully be out later this year.

Museum Promotions
Ely Museum is one of several that have asked for video work for promotions and for in-house education packages to work with schools. Shown is an overview of what the museum offers to the public. The video was created over four visits, starting with a walk through highlighting the key areas to filming various school visits for the other packages. The whole project took 8 months to complete as it was done in the latter stages of Covid-19 and we had to film two versions, one version with masks on.

Short Films
The Seduction of Monet Dawson is a short film, an extract from a novel of the same name. Working with the author, it was filmed with Natasha Burnett (When Calls the Heart) and set in west coast of America, but all filmed in Peterborough, UK. We hired an Airbnb for the weekend and filmed an insane amount of footage in 3 days, working around the clock as we had such a short window to shoot. Everything was meticulously planned for every shot. The whole cast and crew then had relocated to a hotel to film the restaurant scene which took 8 hours. Time was our limitation for the film. The full film is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Adverts and Infomercials
We create shorts ads and longer more in-depth infomercials for products which become almost short films. This was created for the sale of a classic car something special that was brought in from the States. The aim was to get the feel and the vibe for a special car – The 1969 Ford Mustang V8 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet. The film was shot in a day and involved coordinating multiple vehicles for moving shots and picking locations for safely filming near a busy highway. It was a lot of fun.

Community Projects
Escape From Fort Lagoon from Wake The Beast was a lottery funded immersive outdoor escape room type project. Anneka Rice meets the Crystal Maze. The film was to document the activity over the weekend and use for promotion for the second event. It was filmed over three days and logistically one of the hardest to plan for as we had to get clearance to use drone footage within a mile from a busy US Air Base. That took two weeks to sort out. The other was filming in and around lots of water. It involved a lot of running around as it was spread over several locations in a town. Think I averaged 14,000 steps per day.

Heritage Projects
The Fenland Orchard Project is one of the several Heritage projects we are involved with. Promotive old skills and historical places of interest. Working with groups to document the skills that could be lost. The Orchard Project was set in Wisbech and follows its development from farmers field to semi established orchard with infrastructure. Filming throughout the course of a year documenting the changes to the site, trees growing, building being erected and cycles of growing and cutting. We have created a series of filmmaker diary is and a final film is in the works.
